Sophie's class (and Hannah's) has a class teddy bear named "grand slam". Every weekend one child gets to bring him home. Then they have to write about their adventures with the bear in their journal. Sophie was the second to last child to get him. She was so excited. She started on the Piano, but they also went ice-skating and to Gene's lab. The lab was Sophie's idea. She wanted to do something original with him. 

Sophie couldn't wait to take Grand Slam to the lab. Doesn't she look like an ad for Children's advil?

The girls are wearing their "new york" outfits. 

Gene took the girls skating one day when I was working. Gene and Hannah pooped out but Sophie wanted to take one more lap by her self. She took three!

The girls love to play in the snow at night. I think they would never come in if we didn't make them. There is something magical about moonlit snow, and their circulation is still good enough that they don't seem to mind the cold.

So Long Soccer

Today was the last day of soccer and I don't think that either Gene or Sophie is terribly disappointed. We think that Sophie had fun but the 8:30 start time was a bit early for all of us.
Anyway, she will probably never play soccer again so I had to photo chronicle today's game.
