State Fair and Easter

Last week Hannah's class had a "state fair" at school. This meant that everyone in the class randomly chose a state out of a hat and then had to do research on it, and come up with a travel brochure to make people want to come to the state. Hannah picked North Dakota. North Dakota? Why would anyone want to go there? At the state fair, they stood under their state poster and tried to convince visiting parents to come to their state. If they did a good job of convincing the parent could give the kid a sticker to put on their poster. The goal was for each child to get 5 stickers. At the end of the event I noticed that Hannah had ELEVEN stickers! I asked her how she got eleven people to go to North Dakota (instead of Hawaii, or Florida, California, or any other of the 49 more desireable states. She just told me that they have oil in North Dakota and she told visitors to her poster that if they came to North Dakota they would get free oil!!! Maybe the North Dakota tourism board should hire her

I also have to say that for the state fair Hannah wore Gene's plaid jacket, a hat that covered her ears and work boots. And, she still was the most beautiful girl there. Any girl can look pretty in a dress, but Hannah glows even in plaid!!

As usual, we went to Connecticut for Easter and spent Saturday morning at the country club awaiting the Easter bunny. The girls had their faces painted while they waited. Hannah went for the princess look. Sophie went for the bunny look. (Below) The face painter was very talented.

After breakfast and the facepainting and the balloon making the kids finally got to go outside to search for eggs. It was freezing but the kids went right down to business.

Recently there has been a lot of discussion about Molli Malou's bike riding on the Molli blog. We thought she'd like to see a picture of her cousin Sophie riding a two wheeler. She's REALLY riding a two wheeler. No tricks here. Nope we'd never do anything mean like lie about a developmental milestone. Anyway, Sophie was ecstatic to be riding her bike and starting and stopping herself. You can see how happy she is by her expression.
After a little bike riding we played a little softball. Gene is coaching Hannah's team this year so the girls are all decked out with Softball gear. As you can see the girls(and mom, dad, and pop-pop) had a fantastic time hitting, running and catching.

Oh yeah, and we were there for Easter. On Easter Morning, the girls had another private Easter egg hunt. You can tell that Hannah was done having her picture taken by this point in the weekend.
Sophie, on the other hand, was not done having her picture taken,
